Searching tables in Kuwinda

Kuwinda uses Datatables for tables. This means that all table searches have a built in search algorithm referred to as “smart” searching and is designed to make searching the table data, easy to use for the end user.

Search behaviour:

  • Match words out of order. For example if you search for John Doe it would match a row containing the words John and Doe, regardless of the order or field that they appear in the table.
  • Partial word matching. Searching starts as soon as your start typing. For example, Jo will match John and any other rows that have matching results.
  • Exact phrase. Search for an exact phrase by enclosing the search text in double quotes. For example, "John Doe" will match only text which contains the phrase John Doe. That is to say it will not match John is known as Doe which would match without double quotes.
